This course dives deeper into topics like the natural aging process of the brain, common cognitive changes associated with aging, strategies for improving brain health, defining dementia, common symptoms, four types of dementia, and dementia risk factors. Woven throughout are real-life stories from dementia clients and CHWs.

13Working with Clients Living with Dementia
Working with Clients Living with Dementia explains the hardships faced by people living with dementia and the role CHWs have in screening for dementia. This course dives deeper into topics like dementia screening tools, testing and diagnosis process, care services and referral resources, follow-up and continued care, and dementia-related supports and resources for CHWs. Woven throughout are real-life stories from dementia clients and CHWs.

14Domestic Violence
The Domestic Violence module provides an overview of domestic violence, covering its definition, various forms of abuse, resources and trauma informed approach. The course highlights recognizing domestic violence signs and understanding the impact it may have on individuals and families. It emphasizes the importance of a supportive approach and equips Community Health Workers with the knowledge to connect individuals with appropriate domestic violence resources and support services.
